Built on the hillock of Rampillon, the church of Saint-Eliphe towers over the village and can be seen for miles across the surrounding plain.

The Harsh austerity of the standstone exterior is sharply contrasted by the church’s light and airy interior.

The portal, which is almost intact, is a masterpiece
of 13th century sculpture. From the base, where the months of the year illustrate life of the Middle Ages,
to the tympanum, showing the Christ in Majesty
and the lintel announcing the Resurrection,
the medieval craftsmen have left us a magnificent
sample of their art.

Inside, three 14th and 15th century polychrome statues, a cenotaph, two low reliefs depicting Heaven and Hell and several tombs of knights further adorn
the church, placing Rampillon on the map
of the treasures of Ile-de-France.
